Compiling GCC 4.2.2 AMD64 Gentoo

Download source files from Move the downloaded file into a folder that you want to compile from. Untar the downloaded files. Create a sepereate directory to compile in. From the directory you created ../gcc source directory/configure and your favorite options. In gentoo the options I use are:

 --host=x86_64-pc-linux-gnu --build=x86_64-pc-linux-gnu --disable-altivec --enable-nls
--without-included-gettext --with-system-zlib --disable-checking --disable-werror
--enable-secureplt --enable-multilib --enable-libmudflap --disable-libssp --disable-libgcj
--enable-languages=c,c++,treelang,fortran --enable-shared --enable-threads=posix --enable-__cxa_atexit

After configuration you must modify ../gcc-ver/gcc/config/i386/t-linux64. Change:
MULTILIB_OSDIRNAMES = ../lib64 ../lib
MULTILIB_OSDIRNAMES = ../lib ../lib32

After that you should be able to perform a make and make install.
